Leksand

http://bit.ly/vgEczT

http://bit.ly/1cfCVmI http://bit.ly/UNJblQ

http://bit.ly/ScR8Uw

I would like to congratulate Leksands kommun for the Japanese Foreign Minister’s commendations FY 2017 and I am so happy that I can join the ceremony for this award.

I was working at Tokai University in Sapporo between 1988 and 2013.  I could therefore follow and join the positive developments of the sister city relations with Tobetsu all the time so far.

Especially I am so grateful that my students could also take part in the many exchange projects as internships and field works.

For example I am recalling that students organized a forum on environment and sustainability and acted as guides and interpreters when Leksand visited Tobetsu in 2007.  In 2010 students organized a ”world café”on happiness in Leksand and Tobetsu and planned the farewell party. In 2012 we visited Leksand with the delegation from Tobetsu. Students then took part in the culture night in Leksand to demonstrate Japanese culture.

All these projects gave students fantastic opportunities to gain both creativity and self-efficacy.

I have therefore enough reasons to thank Leksand and Tobetsu for offering students these irreplaceable chances.

Tack, thank you again for being able to join this award opportunity and omedeto gozaimasu!
